Abstract
This paper presents an overview of the theory of singular systems. Conditions for existence and uniqueness of solutions are presented along with techniques for generating solutions. The concepts (unique to these systems) of infinite eigenvalues, modes at infinity, controllability at infinity, and observability at infinity are discussed.
