Abstract
The author describes experiences in applying object-oriented (OO) techniques to prepare requirements for service negotiation and management (SN&M) operations support for the Advanced Intelligent Network release 1. First, there is a short description of SN&M, its mission, and constraints underlying the SN&M requirements-engineering effort. Second, the history and reasoning are given for the choice of OO technology for preparing the requirements. A more detailed example of SN&M functionality is used to provide the motivation for the discussion. Third, this example is used to discuss how OO technology was applied. Finally, some observations about applying OO technology to SN&M are discussed
