Abstract :
In order to offer the service provider the maximum flexibility of the advanced intelligent network (AIN) the platform architecture choice must be consistent with the operation, administration, and maintenance (OA&M) strategy across the AIN nodes. Such a strategy is compounded in complexity by the possibility of services being deployed on various nodes in the network and also being developed by different vendors. The authors present a conceptual view of platform and service architecture within the OA&M boundaries. The OA&M boundaries dictate the development of an operations strategy for AIN
