Abstract
The analysis of the medium-access-control level throughput-delay-stability performance has been conducted in direct sequence spread spectrum (DS/SS) local radio communications networks with discrete time of arrival (TOA) randomization and delay capture. A new delay capture mechanism is proposed and a combinatoric development is presented for the derivation of the corresponding capture probability equation. Our capture procedure is an extension of the delay capture model proposed by Davis and Gronemeyer (1980). The primary difference between the two methods is our use of mini-slotting in the uncertainty interval Tu. The analysis results show that a system with the proposed delay capture mechanism significantly improves the channel performance
