Abstract :
A method for measuring water content in oil based on the principle that the dielectric constant of oil can impact the transmitting properties of electromagnetic waves is introduced in this paper. Starting with the equivalent input impedance of antenna, analyzes the relationship between the input impedance and dielectric constant, and uses the empirical formula of the dielectric constant of mixture, finally obtains the relationship between the input impedance and water content. The relationship between the output voltage and water content will be found by measuring the voltage at the input impedance, while realizing the measurement for water content. Compared with the existing methods, this new method, which takes on certain significance for the engineering practice, has the characteristics of simple operation, short time period and so on.
