Abstract :
The author considers a mesh base station network with a slotted-ring protocol. The mesh topology provides clock distribution important to time division multiple access (TDMA) or frequency division multiple access (FDMA) radio channel utilization. The slotted-ring protocol provides a simple interface to TDMA or FDMA radio channels. Other issues including traffic synchronization during handover, failure protection, and required network capacity are discussed
