Abstract :
Monte Carlo calculations have been carried out to estimate the shielding requirements for the ITER divertor pumping and remote handling ports and the impact on the cryostat dose rate of neutron streaming through a poorly shielded equatorial port. Optimum use of shielding will assure personnel access (⩽200 μSv/h) at ~10 days after reactor shutdown provided all ports are well shielded and neutron streaming is minimized
