Abstract :
Since the first NEM in Albuquerque in 1978, the Electromagnetics Meetings have attracted an increasingly international range of scholars. This paper will explore the context of this internationalization, including the end of the Cold War, and the contribution of the SUMMA Foundation to the development of the discipline under the leadership of Dr. Carl Baum. These meetings, along with the EMP Note Series represent some of Dr. Baum´s most important legacies.
