  • Abstract
A low- profile, wide-band antenna array with dual-linear polarized radiation is presented; this is an extension of previous work conducted by authors on wide-band tapered-slot arrays. The array consists of 2 inter-woven tapered slot arrays fed by planar microstrip power dividers. The interwoven arrays are orthogonal to each other, to enable dual-linear polarized radiation. Each array has 8 by 8 elements, and operates from 13 GHz- 19 GHz. Measured results showed that the array works well in both polarizations, showing good radiation patterns and low cross-coupling between the two polarizations. Developing technology that enables dual-polarization without compromising the small size or the performance of wideband tapered slot arrays makes these arrays more attractive for large number of applications such as satellite, mobile and radar communications.
