Abstract
With the complication of modern engineering construction technology and the diversity of construction organizing forms, the demands for construction engineering management (CEM) education is accordingly increasing. The traditional CEM teaching method can no longer satisfy the ever-changing demand of the reality. Project-driven teaching is a new teaching method that can efficiently improve the students´ comprehensive and overall practical abilities. This paper firstly analyzes the current situation of the CEM education and reveals the existing problems. By applying cognitive theory, discusses the students´ cognitive law from the aspects of cognitive motivation and cognitive skill, analyzes the project-driven teaching method and students´ ability training theoretically, and establishes the theoretical model for project-driven teaching in CEM under the framework of cognitive theory. Finally, analyzes the application of project-driven teaching in CEM based on the theoretical model. We hope that this research will improve the practice of CEM education.
