Abstract :
A multiphase systolic algorithm is proposed to solve the spectral decomposition problem based on the QR algorithm. It is shown that the Q matrix can be computed easily by using a multiphase systolic algorithm, and thus the eigenvectors can also be computed without any global communication in the array. Details on these multiphase operations of the QR algorithm as well as architectural consequences are discussed
