Abstract :
The DØ central preshower detector is designed to improve electron identification and to help restore the electromagnetic energy resolution otherwise degraded by the presence of the solenoid. The cylindrically shaped detector is arranged in z-z, u-u and ν-ν layers with a uν stereo angle of ±20 degrees. This note describes the basic design parameters, current plans for the readout & trigger electronics and some simulation results of the DØ central preshower detector
