Abstract :
As multimedia comes into wider use, and new ways to apply it are devised, increasing demands are made on both hardware and software to support ever longer and more elaborate presentations and tutorials. The present paper addresses the problem of storage requirements when the application data contains lengthy sequences of full-screen, full-motion, high-resolution motion pictures from videos or other sources. It describes an emerging technique for compressing the data, the autosophy technique, while retaining the full quality of the images. In particular, it presents a detailed explanation of the basic autosophy compression and decompression processes
