Abstract
This paper deals with the application of the so called Internet of Things paradigm to the setting up of intelligent and cooperative environments. In particular, it focuses on the management of wide area Wireless Sensor Networks comprised of objects belonging to the logistic domain with the aim of transparent managing them. The IPv6 global addressing is applied allowing the dynamic tracking, information upload and retrieval and nodes management, while coping with inherent mobility. The proposed solution has been adopted in a real world case study, pointing out flexibility and responsiveness.
