Abstract :
Currently, two methods, the ITU-T P.800 mean opinion score (MOS) and perceptual evaluation of speech quality (PSQM), and the G.107 E-Model are being used to estimate the voice quality of VoIP. As these methods are complex, we propose a simple estimate method by using a network environment, a hardware device and bandwidth as estimate parameters which are easy for both machines and users. Our experiment includes measuring delay, jitter and packet loss of different network architectures. Then we represent the voice quality by the triangle estimate method using of a scale from 1 to 9 to show the user whether the voice quality for this connection is good or bad. We use the triangle area size as the triangle estimate score; the biggest area for the worst and the smallest for the best quality.
