Abstract :
The characteristics of a buck type three phase PWM rectifier are analyzed using the circuit DQ transform method. An exact DQ equivalent circuit model is induced and a full set of equations are derived in explicit form. Using the signal flow graph to describe the internal relations of power converter operation, the unique behavior of the power converter is analyzed from several practical viewpoints. Various power converter characteristics such as gain, real and reactive power, power factor and unity power factor condition including the effects of component values and load variations are analyzed as a function of modulation index and PWM phase angle variation
