Abstract :
Summary form only given. We report on a detailed analysis of the ultrafast electron relaxation in Ge nanoparticles. The experiments have been performed on Ge nanocrystals with radii in the range 4-16 nm embedded in a dielectric material. Transient measurements were performed by pump-probe technique. The differential transmission spectra of nanoparticles at three pump energies are shown. The experimental results are described using a model based on Ge bulk band structure.
