Abstract :
The National Science Foundation has made a major grant to Dr. Hamner to study the dynamics of fish schooling. This is a complex, multi-year project utilizing field collected 3-D video tape that is then subject to Cray Computer analysis. The camera and taping system will be constructed this spring and tried out this summer. There are design constraints to this system that haven´t been addressed in existing hardware. This paper will address the initial work done prior to the OCEANS 87 Conference. A demonstration 3-D video tape is planned for showing at OCEANS.
