Abstract
Value optimization design is a design method that is used commonly in the modern industrial design treat a certain target as the guidance. It regards value engineering, value analysis, value design and value innovation and so on as the means, function analysis as the core, developing the creativity as the foundation, and seeks the best proportion of function to cost to get the most superior value. Generally speaking, Value optimization is the guiding principle and the goal which should be carried through in the design from beginning to end. This article begins the study from function optimization and cost optimization to analyze the possibility and the significance that value optimization design applies in industrial design.
