Abstract :
In this paper, theoretical analysis and practical of coal production were combined to study the mechanism of large gas explosion accident at coal face. The author uses coal spontaneous combustion theory, as well as rock pressure, gas flow field and gas explosion theory to study the cause of the large gas explosion with high incidence at coal face. Consequently, the cause of the accident is: when the overburden breaking down, the gas accumulative in goaf is squeezed out, when passing through the region of coal spontaneous combustion, the gas within the scope of gas explosion is ignited which leads to a serious gas explosion. The paper reveals the mechanism of serious gas explosion accident at coal face, thus provides a scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of gas explosion.
