Abstract
The ill-posedness and nonlinearity affecting inverse scattering problems are strictly related to the limited amount of information in the scattering data. Accordingly, the search for approximate solutions satisfying additional constraints coming from different, when available, information sources represent an important aspect to be carefully considered for addressing inverse scattering problems. This contribution is aimed at reviewing some strategies exploiting different sources to retrieve information on the inverse problem for yielding reliable and inverse solutions.
