Summary form only given. Four sets of 8×16 delivery-and-coupling-type optical switches for a 320-Gbit/s throughput optical path cross-connect system were developed by utilizing planar-lightwave-circuit technology, and an average ON/OFF ratio of 42.1 dB was achieved.
