Abstract :
This paper explores the design requirements of a low-cost Remote Telemetry Testing Module (RTTM) which could easily attach to various types of instruments and allow for real time data collection and immediate, on site testing. Such a module would be especially useful in the testing of remote sensing instruments which are designed to operate on a satellite-based data collection system. Their functions could be fully monitored in a controlled test situation, allowing any anomalies to be investigated quickly. This paper poses general design criteria and discusses a sample implementation.
