Abstract :
The present work is on the use of finite element method (FEM) for numerical modelling of an induction heating system for thermal treatment of long cylindrical steel bar. In the design and optimization of these type of process interesting quantities like the temperature field and power induced by eddy currents are of particular interest. Specially interesting is the effect of changing the current frequency.
