Abstract :
This article report on the effect of substituting other transition metals on the magnetostriction and Curie temperature of R(Zn1-xFex) (R=Tb, Dy) polycrystalline alloys. The X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that the DyZn1-xFex alloys consisted of nearly a single Dy(Zn,Fe) phase with the CsCl-type cubic structure in the range 0<x<0.15. When x>0.15, they consist of a Dy(Zn,Fe) phase with a small amount of Dy-rich second phase. For TbZn1-xFex alloys, a similar result is been obtained.
