Abstract :
The cycle time of semiconductor manufacturing becomes longer and longer due to the continuously increasing complexity of global supply chain. It prevents chip makers from improving customer responsiveness and making business profitable. To facilitate supply chain decision at the enterprise-level, we model a supply chain from fabs, assembly & test sites, to distribution centers for a typical product family by using simulation. We describe the simulation modeling and validation. We also conduct detailed sensitivity analysis and identify the tens of million USD cost saving opportunities through subcon consolidation and a centralized die hub.
