Abstract
This paper proposes a new unit cell structure of a composite right/left transmission line (CRLH-TL) based on conductor-backed coplanar strips. This structure has a sub line in addition to the conventional basic unit cell. the width of the sub-line control the phase and the attenuation constants independently. Then the proposed unit cell is successfully utilized to construct a leaky-wave antenna with low sidelobe. The validity of the proposed unit cell is verified by fabricating the antenna with the Taylar distribution and measuring its radiation characteristics.
