Abstract :
In this study, the activation volumes of perpendicular recording media with dispersions of grain size have been analyzed using Voronoi lattice by micromagnetic simulation. An array of polygonal prism grains with perfect mirror image for soft underlayer (SUL) was used to simulate a section of a perpendicular recording medium. Thermal activation volume was obtained from the difference of the magnetization distributions.
