Abstract :
Figure-eight fiber laser (8FL), as a source of ultra short pulses find many applications in optical communication. In this paper, we provide basic ideas about principle of operation of this type of fiber laser. We also give an idea about the Split Step Fourier Method (SSFM) and we use this algorithm to simulate our application. As much as we can, we try to define the difference between Non Linear Optical Loop Mirror (NOLM) and Non Linear Amplifying Loop Mirror (NALM) configuration. The last part of this paper is devoted to different simulations which have as a target to convey in a summarized manner the interest of using MOF in 8FL.
