Abstract :
A novel amplified pixel sensor (APS) with 50-um pixel size is proposed for x-ray detector applications. Moreover, the readout system is demonstrated to detect image with the APS detector panel. The specification of the readout system is 14-bit grayscale resolution and 160us integration time per scanning channel. As a result, the 160 × 160 array image is shown on LCD, proving the ability to detect the x-ray image with the APS detector panel and the corresponding readout system. Consequently, the APS device and the readout system show the potential to overcome the drawbacks, such as limited resolution and sensitivity, of the digital radiography sensor with conventional architecture.
