Abstract :
In this paper, video format conversion between digital TV systems using new extendible inverse DCT is developed. Based on the conventional inverse DCT, an extendible inverse DCT equation is given to provide rational ratio of interpolation. The proposed extendible inverse DCT is backward compatible to the conventional IDCT which is widely used in digital video compression standards such as MPEG
