Abstract
The approach to find a suitable partial response maximum likelihood (PRML) channels for the R/W channels using patterned media is studied. The results show that the R/W channel using the double layered media shows the good performance, and the FR channel is suitable for the first target for GPR channel in the region of higher bit error rate (bER) than 10-5.
