Abstract
In this study, an apparatus for nondestructive measurement of hysteresis loops of irradiated Charpy test pieces is developed. The magnetic properties such as magnetic structure sensitive properties and coercive field of Charpy test pieces made of carbon steels are correlated with their mechanical properties, transition temperature from ductility to brittleness (DBTT). The applicability of nondestructive evaluation (NDE) for the nuclear reactor pressure vessels (RPV) was discussed.
