Abstract
This paper addresses the necessity of channel prediction in the time-varying channels. In a multiple input single output (MISO) system, transmit beamforming relies on the current channel knowledge, one solution is the use of feedback channel. In conventional scheme because of signal processing, propagation and channel-access protocols, channel knowledge often outdated for the the current use, so feedback delay is a major factor for the performance degradation in the time-varying channel. In this paper we utilize a Kalman-filter-based prediction method to overcome the feedback delay effect. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the channel prediction scheme.
