Abstract :
In this paper, we have determined the values of the internal stresses induced on the radial, azimuthal and axial directions during dc Joule heating. We have calculated the internal stresses and magnetic domain structures for five samples considered as being representative cases. These stresses are owing to the successive heating, crystallization and cooling of the metal as well as to contractions generated by the glass cover in the metal during the thermal treatment due to difference between the thermal expansion coefficients of metal and glass.
