Abstract
The success of integrated network and systems management solutions depends on the integration of business processes with network and systems management. The increasing distribution of management resources (including people) necessitates groupware/workflow-integrated enterprise-wide solutions for network management. The design of network management systems involves the cooperation of multiple groups of people within and across organisations. Hence it may be useful to adopt a formal design methodology. However, such a methodology needs to be flexible enough to accommodate a wide variety of design models and notations in this multidisciplinary area of research. This paper presents a new methodology (called CoMEN-cooperative management methodology for enterprise networks) for the design and implementation of enterprise-oriented network management solutions
