Abstract
Summary form only given. To analyze the mechanism of phase conjugation (PC) by SBS in multimode optical fibers it is necessary to take into consideration hypersound diffraction effects which can give rise to specific features of SBS amplification in cylindrical fibers. This report describes for the first time the PC-SBS theory for cylindrical fibers.
