Abstract
Summary form only given. The dynamics of an optically induced space charge in photorefractive crystals is associated with excitation and damping of space charge waves. The goals of this work were precision measurements of the dispersion law for space charge waves; and investigation of the spectra of space charge waves at the linear and nonlinear regimes of excitation. For the experiments we have developed a technique for detection of the first nonBragg diffraction order in thin holograms of photorefractive crystals under illumination of the crystals by an interference pattern oscillating with frequency n about the average position.
