Abstract
Error of displacement signal for uncorrelated end correlated noise of laser illuminated object (target) is analyzed. The maximum error of displacement signal is 1.41 times larger than the minimum value, for constant signal-to-noise ratio and uncorrelated noise. In the case of correlated noise the error of displacement signal decreases for larger correlation coefficient. The linear approximation of the error of displacement signal versus can be considered as a good approximation. The limit of the probability density function, when correlation coefficient approaches 1, can be used for computing the error of displacement signal for any correlation coefficient from the whole range.
