Abstract :
In order to find the concealed location of small oil and gas reservoir more accurately and improve efficiency of processing large seismic data, we present a parallel Hilbert-Huang transformation algorithm (PHHT), by which the extreme points and eventual average envelope of seismic signal become more precision during empirical mode decomposition (EMD)and getting the number of extreme points and zeros point become much faster by Graphics processors units (GPU) compared to the original Hilbert-Huang transformation (HHT).The seismic data of different sizes are analyzed in the experiment. The result shows that the location of fault in seismic profile can be recognise more accurately, and the bright spot of seismic envelop profile can be find more easily by the PHHT, in addition our algorithm can process the 10GB of seismic data by GPU, and the ratio of speeding up can be as high as five times more compared to the CPU processing.
