Abstract
Based on the composite left/right-handed transmission line (CRLH) theory, the paper designs a dual-band small antenna used in emergency position indicating radio beacon system for vessels, which can work in the frequency band of 1.6 GHz and 2.4 GHz. The mathematical simulation results showed that the antenna satisfied the relevant Chinese national and international standards which has the advantage of the structure of small size, low profile, easy integration.
