Abstract :
Based on the theory of sustainable development, evaluation indexes system of public libraries has been established. Principal component analysis was applied in the empirical study of public libraries in Chongqing in recent years. Three principal components have been chosen, and the comprehensive evaluation model was established. It is concluded that the development level of public libraries in Chongqing has been increasing, and it proved that principal component analysis is a feasible and effective method in the evaluation research of public libraries. This work provides theory support for the evaluation study of public libraries.
