Abstract :
This paper presents a new design method for IIR filters with maximum bandwidth using multiple frequency initializations. The designed filters offer better transient frequency responses for a given number of samples. The improvement is achieved by fine-tuning the positions of the poles to maximize the bandwidth for a given number of samples. Third order filters were successfully designed for processing different numbers of samples and their performances were studied by considering their transient frequency responses.
