Abstract :
Summary form only. This session will discuss the European Commission (EC) R and D activities and funding opportunities in the areas of optoelectronics, lasers and optics. The EC programme objectives, technical scope, priorities, modalities and trends for future calls will be outlined. The session will also include presentations from current collaborative projects on high-power, semiconductor sources, tunable lasers, photonic crystals and terahertz imaging, illustrating some consortia experiences with the European commission IST (Information Society Technologies) programme.
