Abstract :
The paper summarizes the approach to teaching digital signal processing at the University of Ottawa. The paper is restricted to one fourth-year all-inclusive course which tries to cover all the basics of DSP while introducing students to software/hardware tools and applications. The author believes that based on a balanced combination of DSP packages, high level programming (using C) and hardware components; it is possible to achieve the objectives in the limited time available
