Abstract :
In this paper, a new CMOS current-mode exponentially-controlled automatic gain control system (AGC) is designed, simulated, and fabricated in a 0.18 um 1P6M CMOS technology. The system achieves 40 dB dynamic range, and consumes 2.6 mW from a 1.8 V power supply. The measurement results confirm the feasibility of the proposed current-mode automatic gain amplifier, which is the first available current-mode AGC according to our knowledge.
