Abstract
The impact of noise and thermal fluctuations on the design of some magnetic devices are discussed. In particular, field sensitivities of magnetic field sensors can be enhanced when 1/f noise is minimized. Also, thermal fluctuations limit that performance of nanomagnetic microwave devices such as spin-transfer nano-oscillators. The origins of noise in magnetic systems are reviewed.
