  • Abstract
Summary form only. We made use of the large second-order nonlinear optical susceptibility in the near infrared of organic crystal N-(4-nitrophenyl)-L-prolinol (hereafter called NPP) to obtain various types of frequency conversion efficiently and with modest pump intensity. NPP, developed by Zyss and coworkers through a molecular engineering approach, recently benefited of a new growth procedure capable to produce crystals of larger size and of improved optical quality.
