Abstract :
The top edge of the shaper tooth is rounded to improve the bending strength of face gears, and then the fillet surface equation of face gear is presented. After the Tooth Contact Analysis (TCA), the variation of bending stresses is computed during the cycle of meshing and when some parameters are changed based on the 3-Dimension contact finite element method. Results indicate that both of the nominal pressure angle and shaft adjustments of face-gear obviously affect the bending strength.
