Abstract
This paper presents a study of eccentricity fault detection in permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM), under dynamic conditions. The fault simulation was made by means of two-dimensional (2-D) finite element analysis (FEA). Joint time - frequency transforms, as Wigner Ville distribution (WVD) and Zao-Atlas-Marks distribution, were proposed for signal analysis. Simulations carried out were compared with experimental results.
